Video Recap | Sri Lanka Country Learning Mission (December 2022)

We are pleased to announce the release of a video commemorating our second country learning mission, which took place in December 2022 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The video launch coincides with the United Nations International Day of Peace (September 21st), a moment to celebrate the work of peace, justice, and healing that is being carried out in all corners of the world.

The Regional Network for Peacebuilders (Sangha for Peace), convened by the International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB) with full support from USAID Asia and FHI 360 , brought together Peacemakers from the Buddhist communities in Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The December 2-10, 2022 learning mission was marked by its success in fostering learning and understanding of different perspectives.

The video offers glimpses into Sangha for Peace activities during their country learning mission. Participants, including male and female monastics, cisgender individuals and members of the LGBTQIN+ communities, had the opportunity to engage with various social, ethnic, religious and gender groups. Additionally, it features an insightful interview with one of our peace champions, sharing background and development on their action plan.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those who have contributed to the success of this project.
