Donald Trump Freezes Aid
Field hospitals in Thai refugee camps, landmine clearance in war zones, and drugs to treat millions suffering from diseases such as HIV are among the programs frozen as President Donald Trump contemplates massive cuts to U.S. foreign aid. Trump last week paused development assistance from the U.S. Agency for International Development for 90 days to assess compatibility with his “America First” policy. This has set alarm bells ringing among aid groups around the world that depend on U.S. funding.

JTS-INEB-Bodhiyalai Humanitarian Assessment Mission
From January 16–18, 2025, JTS, an international NGO focused on eradicating famine, disease, and illiteracy, collaborated with INEB and the Bodhiyalai Foundation on a humanitarian support survey trip along the Thailand-Myanmar border. The trip aimed to support Myanmar refugees, strengthen partnerships, and assess community needs. The team visited schools, temples, and refugee communities in Chiang Mai, Chiang Dao, and Wiang Haeng to evaluate education and living conditions.
