On January 22nd, 2022, beloved Vietnamese Zen Master and path-blazing pioneer of Engaged Buddhism Ven. Thich Naht Hahn passed away peacefully at Tui Hieu Temple in Hue, Vietnam.

Since their first meeting in 1975, Thich Naht Hanh’s inspirational synthesis of Buddhist pratice and social action has exercised a profound influence on Sulak Sivaraksa’s vision of a Socially Engaged Buddhism – ultimately leading to INEB’s founding in 1989 and Thay’s continually supportive patronage.
